Colette is the founder of Ballou PR, the smartest and sassiest public relations agency on either side of the Atlantic, which focuses on high growth companies.

Colette has over 17 years of public relations experience in both agency and corporate environments, and her experience spans companies across a range of industries, including digital entertainment and media, social networking, and mobile services to name but a few.  Folks she works with:  Facebook, Amazon, Shopping.com, SurveyMonkey, Groupon, Autonomy, Dailymotion, Viadeo, Sofinnova Partners, Partech International and Atlas Venture.  In addition, Colette has specific expertise counseling venture capital firms, biotechnology companies and global media organizations.

But her true love is start-ups.

Colette is an active part of the European start-up community: she is a speaker and moderator at industry events and is a mentor and judge for start-up organizations such as Seedcamp, Microsoft BizSpark, GuideWire Group Innovate! Europe conference, IBM SmartCamp, SxSW Start-Up Accelerator, European Tech Tour, TechCrunch and Plugg conference in Brussels.

She is also one of the 500 Mentors for 500 Startups, where her superhero personality is European Girl.

Colette has a master’s degree in Ethics/Philosophy from Union Theological Seminary, where she wrote her thesis, Ethics in Public Relations. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and religious studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (go Heels).
