Dawson King is a serial entrepreneur who has successfully created and sold five ventures and held two C-level positions at leading blue-chip companies. He has provided technology and marketing consultancy for organisations including NASA, Sony, Rolls-Royce, Blackberry, the BBC, Vodafone, Mini and the NHS.
In 2004, Dawson was interviewed by Forbes, CNET, The Register, the BBC, Silicon and News.com for the design and development of the world’s first one-gigabyte e-mail service – successfully launched one month before Google’s competing service and acquired two months after.
Joining Ten Alps PLC, an AIM-listed media company, as its Technical Director in 2006, Dawson created their digital division, helping to move the company from traditional print and media into digital and online advertising, marketing and communications. He produced the major B2B online TV site, Teachers TV, and client sites within 600 title portfolio, brought together in the Link2 trade portal. Kent TV and Fermanagh TV became pioneering local online TV stations.
Dawson is now the CEO and Founder of Cambridge Healthcare, working in partnership with the NHS East of England to develop an Electronic Personal Health Planning portal and services marketplace for the region, with interest from the Department of Health to deploy nationally.
Dawson sits on the NHS Innovation Council and is a UKTI representative for eHealth. Previously, he was CTO and co-Founder at one of the first companies to integrate into the NHS Connecting for Health network and to offer secure tools for patients to work with clinicians.
