Neil Davidson and Simon Galbraith are co-founders and joint CEOs of Red Gate Software and Amir Chaudhry joined them to help launch Springboard. They’ve recently been joined by Alex van Someren, who was one of the speakers in 2009. You can read more about how it all happened on Neil’s blog post.
About Red Gate
Red Gate was founded in 1999 and now employs almost 200 people. It was founded with no VC capital and little debt. In 2006 it was Cambridge News business of the year and has been in the Sunday Times top 100 places to work for the last four years running.
Neil Davidson
Neil is also founder of the annual Business of Software conference, runs the Business of Software social network, is co-founder of the Cambridge Business Lectures and is chairman of the Cambridge Network. You can read his blog and follow him on Twitter @neildavidson
Simon Galbraith
Simon is also an advisor to another great little Cambridge software company and spent 5 years as chairman of a local childcare facility. His lack of personal blogs, conferences or lectures hopefully means he’ll have even more time to be learning from and mentoring you. Overall, he’d like to think that he’s one of those intelligent business owners that Warren Buffet talks about.
Alex van Someren
Alex has a breadth of experience in creating and growing businesses and over his career he has co-founded several companies. Two of these have been listed on the stock exchange, the most recent being nCipher, where Alex was CEO for almost 12 years. In contrast to his current work with startups, Alex is also repairing a watermill in the East of England.
Amir Chaudhry
Amir is also chairman of Cambridge University Entrepreneurs, which has awarded over £550k in prizes and helped create over 45 companies since 1999. Before Springboard, Amir studied Physics at Imperial and is finishing a PhD in human emotion at Darwin College, Cambridge.
