“I don’t want anybody’s undivided attention…”
So began Eric’s talk at The Lean Startup event Monday, which packed a large theatre with 500 or so buzzing attendees. It was a delightfully entertaining evening and as such, I thought I’d capture some of the more amusing (I mean useful) quotes and photos from the event. Note these are all taken out of context, so fill in the gaps with your imagination and enjoy. Major kudos to the BLN team Mark, Marcin, and Darren for organising the affair – and hope our 10 ticket winners had a blast too!

“Who’s seen my personal favourite entrepreneurship movie, Ghostbusters?”
“If anyone’s working on a social network for dogs, i apologise.”
“If you follow me, you too can be a big failure.”
“If we’re busy building something nobody wants, why are we so proud of doing it on time and on budget?”
“How come what we’re learning only comes up at the end – as an excuse?”
“I can build faster if i don’t measure.” … “in the same way that i can drive faster if i close my eyes and just press down on the gas pedal”
“We need a system that holds entrepreneurs accountable that actually celebrates milestones that are meaningful.”
“Innovation accounting – not to be confused with innovative accounting, which can get you thrown in prison”
“Better to have bad news that’s true rather than good news that we just made up.”
“Take one of your good ideas… and try to get someone to steal it”
And finally, the evening eloquently captured by attendee @SaskiaVideler: “But of course my aim is world domination.”
Absolutely, cheers to that!
